Litigation Paralegal – – Personal Injury & General Litigation Defense

A law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal for its New York, NY office to support personal injury and general litigation defense matters. The role involves managing client cases from inception through trial and closing, with day-to-day responsibilities that include daily time entry billing, obtaining and analyzing case documents such as medical and financial records, and preparing trial materials including binders, exhibits, and witness files. The paralegal will also manage the court docket calendar, prepare status reports for relevant parties, and see cases through from start to finish while meeting all court deadlines.
Candidates should have at least five years of experience, ideally in defense litigation support, along with a bachelor’s degree and/or a Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program. Strong organizational skills, time management, and the ability to communicate effectively with attorneys, court staff, clients, and expert witnesses are essential, as is a demonstrated interest in defense litigation. Legal research experience (Lexis a plus), familiarity with medical records, and law firm billing experience are preferred, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office. This is a hybrid role, ideally four days per week on-site. The salary range is $95,000 – $105,000.
